Step 6 – Set vice angle

If you wish to drill or mill the workpiece at an angle, you will need to set the vice at the required position for machining. The vice may have a calibrated quadrant on it which allows you to accurately set the vice at any angle up to 90 degrees.

locking pin If you have an angle vice with locking pins, then simply remove the locking pin in order to adjust the vice. Once at the required angle, slot the locking pin back into the vice to secure it in place.
slotted bracket If you have an angle vice with slotted brackets, simply loosen the bolts on the slotted bracket to adjust the vice. Tilt the vice until it is at the optimum angle, then tighten the bolts again to keep the vice in place.
