Saw blades are most commonly rated according to how many Teeth Per Inch they have (1 inch = 25mm approx). This measurement will be presented as a number followed by the letters: ‘TPI’
What does a blade’s TPI actually mean?
How many teeth per inch a blade has will affect:
1. How fast it can cut
2. The type of material it’s suited to
3. Whether the saw will produce a neat or a rough finish.
For more information, see the section What is the ‘finish’?
