Some models of double-sided veneer saw will cut on the pull stroke only. Other models have one set of teeth which cut on the pull stroke, and another that cut on the push.
Starting your cut
You can use masking tape or a flat board to secure your material when working.
Step 1 – Rest blade against material
Assuming your saw cuts on the pull stroke, rest the blade lightly against the surface of the material.
Step 2 – Pull saw back towards you
Slowly draw the saw back towards you, applying very little downward pressure in one long, smooth stroke. Veneer sheets are very thin so it should only take you one or two strokes of the saw to make your cut.
