There is another hand saw commonly associated with the junior hacksaw, called the mini saw. A mini saw usually has a straight handle and curved frame made out of metal.
Most mini saws will accept standard hacksaw blades of 250 or 300mm (9.8 and 11.8″ approx). As a result, they are most commonly used for cutting plastic and metal.
Mini saws are usually used for cutting in restricted areas where a regular hacksaw or even a junior hacksaw could not fit.
How is the blade attached?
One end of the blade is slotted through the saw’s handle, while the other is clamped in the frame’s arm. The blade can be inserted or removed by loosening the screw on the arm to release the clamp.
