The curved nose of the floorboard saw also comes in handy when you need to cut through the tongue and groove joint holding together two floorboards.

Step 1 – Slip blade into gap
To cut through a joint, turn the saw upside down and slip the curved nose in the gap between the two boards.
Step 2 – Push blade away from you
When you feel the blade make contact with the joint, begin pushing the saw slowly away from you, applying very little downward pressure in one long stroke.
Step 3 – Prise up floorboard
Once the joint has been cut, you can prise up the floorboard using a wide chisel.
