The gentleman’s saw or ‘gent’s saw’ for short is basically a tenon or dovetail saw with a longer blade and a straight handle.
A longer blade means that fewer full strokes are needed to complete the cut. |

Although they are not as common as they once were, gent’s saws can still be found, but they are usually referred to as ‘right-angled tenon saws’. | |||
