Grip the handle of the bow saw firmly in your dominant hand.
Use your other hand to steady the wood (but make sure you keep it well away from the blade!) |

Placing your hand on the wood when sawing a tree branch will also help to support your body as you move the saw through the wood.
But make sure you’re not resting on or leaning against the branch or you could injure yourself when the branch falls. |
