After repeated use over time, the blade on your surform shaver will become dull. If this happens the blade will need replacing because a dull blade will not cut your workpiece effectively, and is more likely to scratch and tear the material.
Replacing the blade on a surform shaver is very easy to do. It differs from the other types of surform tool, as there is generally no screw involved when removing the blade. The blade is simply clipped on and off.
Step 1 – Unclip blade
A shaver blade has two fasteners, one at either end. To release the blade from the rest of the tool, unclip the fastener at one end of the blade.
Step 2 – Remove blade
Pull the blade from the body.
Step 3 – Attach new blade
Clip the new blade on to the body of the surform shaver by pushing the fasteners over the edge of the body. Make sure both fasteners are securely attached.
