What is a Frame Anchor Screw?

At Wonkee Donkee, we always used to recommend the use of frame fixings or loose bolt anchors when looking to secure a screw into tough materials such as brick, stone or concrete. But not anymore, we now recommend the use of frame anchor screws, and in this article, we tell you exactly why.

What is a Frame Anchor Screw?

A frame anchor screw is a special type of screw that does not require anything else in order to anchor itself into tough materials such as brick or concrete. Designed with serrated edges on the bottom, this screw will drive itself through the material, helping to fix itself in place during the process.

How to use a Frame Anchor Screw?

Installing a frame anchor screw is fairly straightforward, another reason why we love them, all you need is a 6mm masonry bit, a T-star T30 screw bit and a drill. To begin, attach the 6mm masonry bit to the drill and create the pilot hole where you want the frame anchor screw to sit. Once the hole is drilled, switch the masonry bit with the T-star T30 screw bit and place the frame anchor screw in position. Next, simply drive the frame anchor screw into place using the drill.
