A pin chuck is used to hold drill bits that are too small for a regular drill chuck to hold. |

Regular drill chucks usually hold bits between 10 and 13mm (0.39 – 0.5 inches), whereas pin chucks hold bits between 0 – 2.5mm (0 – 0.09 inches). |
