Store your gas hose somewhere clean and dry, preferably in a sturdy container where it can’t be gnawed by rodents. It’s especially important to keep the hose away from oil, which attacks both pure and synthetic rubber.
Try to avoid keeping your hose anywhere that gets either very cold or very hot. The ideal storage temperature for both rubber and synthetic rubber hoses is between 10°C and 21°C, with a maximum of 38°C.
In freezing conditions the hose will become brittle, and if the weather gets too hot the rubber will start to deteriorate.
A word about storing gas cylinders
Put your cylinders in a well ventilated place. You can store butane indoors, but propane must by law be kept outside. Always keep the tanks upright.
LPG is heavier than air, so don’t keep cylinders in a cellar or below ground level – if there is a leak the gas will flow downwards and collect in one place. It then becomes more concentrated, and therefore more dangerous.
