How to recalibrate a dial caliper

You should also check that your caliper is calibrated correctly. Tighten the jaws until you can see no light between them. |

If the dial indicator needle does not point exactly to zero when the jaws are closed, you will need to recalibrate your caliper. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
To recalibrate your caliper, loosen the bezel nut underneath the dial then rotate the dial until the needle is pointing to zero. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
Lock the dial into place, by re-tightening the bezel nut. Your caliper is now ready to use. |
