A cordless drill driver is a power tool designed to insert and remove screws, as well as drill holes. Drill drivers are usually less expensive than cordless impact drivers and have a 3-jawed chuck which accepts drill bits.
However…
Cordless drill drivers are generally larger than cordless impact drivers and most cannot produce the same high level of torque that an impact driver can.
For more information on torque, see our section: What is torque?
If you want to insert or remove large screws quickly and easily, and work in awkward or confined spaces where a large drill driver cannot fit, then consider purchasing a cordless impact driver.
