Standard multi-lift hand magnets

The width of a standard multi-lift hand magnet is the distance between the two widest points and can range from 25.4mm (1″) to 215mm (8.46″).

The depth of a standard multi lift hand magnet is its thickness. It ranges from 19mm (0.75″) to 152.4mm (6″).

The height refers to the distance between the bottom of the magnet and the highest point on the handle. The height ranges from 50.8mm (2″) to 190mm (7.48″).

The magnetic pull of a standard multi-lift hand magnet ranges from 7kg (15.4lb) to 102kg (224.87lb). This means that the largest size of sheet steel a standard multi-lift hand magnet could lift would be 2000mm x 1300mm x 10mm (78.7″ x 51″ x 0.39″), as this on average will weigh 100kg (220lb).

A small standard multi-lift hand magnet (50.8 x 25.4 x 19mm) is useful for picking up ferromagnetic material, for example in a place where nuts and bolts are used on a daily basis (in a mechanic’s garage). A large one, on the other hand, would be more suited to lifting heavy sheets of steel.

Release multi-lift hand magnets

The width of a release multi-lift hand magnet is equal to the distance between the two widest points and can range from 95.25mm (3.75″) to 285.75mm (11.25″). 

A release multi-lift hand magnet with a larger width would be beneficial for lifting long pieces of steel. This is because the magnet would be in contact with more of the steel sheet than a magnet with a smaller width.

The depth of release multi-lift hand magnets ranges from 41mm (1.6″) to 120.65mm (4.75″). 

A release multi-lift hand magnet with a large depth would be beneficial for lifting large amounts of dropped ferromagnetic materials as it would have greater contact along more of the steel sheet than one with a smaller depth.

The height of a release multi-lift hand magnet is the distance between its base and the top of the handle and can range from 190.5mm (7.5″) to 825.5mm (32.5″).

The taller a release multi-lift hand magnet is, the easier it will be to lift ferromagnetic materials from awkward places, for example down a flight of steep steps.

Cylinder release multi-lift hand magnets
