What is a basic magnetic disc?
|A basic magnetic disc is the original type of magnetic disc from which the other varieties have evolved. For instance, a basic magnetic disc can be found in the casing of a planning magnetic disc.|
|It is a type of magnetic disc where no additions have been made, for example there is no casing or countersunk hole.|
|They can be used in packaging and displays where a simple circular magnet is suitable, for example as a magnetic clasp in a handbag.
They are also used to create other magnets e.g. shallow pot magnets. For information on shallow pot magnets, see What is a countersunk pot magnet?
