The instructions for how to use a digital angle gauge/protractor may differ depending on the device, as not all devices will have the same buttons or modes.
“Horizontal measurement mode”
Step 1 – Set protractor to “horizontal measurement mode”
Ensure that you are in “horizontal measurement mode” (this may be determined by an icon e.g. ABS).
Step 2 – Place protractor on angle
Place the digital protractor on the angled surface. This will give you the angle on the digital display. The angle uses the “horizontal plane” (level surface) as its base.
“Relative measurement mode”
Step 1 – Place protractor on first angle
Place the digital protractor on the angle you wish to measure from.
Step 2 – Press “zero” button
The “zero” button will reset the angle on the display to zero degrees.
Step 3 – Place protractor on second angle
Place the digital protractor on the angle you wish to measure. The measurement displayed will be the angle between the initial angle from “Step 1” and the second angle.
