How to change the clamping heads of plumbing irons?

Step 1 – Isolate from supply

Make sure the irons are switched off, unplugged and have cooled down.

Step 2 – Remove

Slide the heads off the heating elements.

Step 3 – Check

Take the clamping heads and make sure the shims are in place.

Step 4 – Clean

Using a soft cloth, wipe down the heating element shafts to remove any lubricant or dirt.

Step 5 – Fit

Take the alternative size of clamping head and slot the new heads into place on the shafts
