As with all riveters, it’s important to ensure you use rivets of the correct size for the nozzle
Step 1 – Open lazy tong riveter
Place your dominant hand on the handle of the riveter and your non-dominant hand on the nozzle.
Pull the ends in opposite directions to fully open the lattice.
Step 2 – Place rivet
Place the mandrel of the rivet into the nozzle of the riveter.
Step 3 – Slot rivet
Slot the body of the rivet into the hole of the material.
Step 4 – Grab handle
Using your dominant hand, firmly grab the handle. You can place both hands on the handle for a more secure grip.
Step 5 – Push riveter
Push the handle of the riveter forwards.
Step 6 – Install rivet
Once you have pushed the handle as far as you can, you should hear a snapping sound which means that the mandrel has snapped off leaving the rivet with a second head.
If the rivet has not made a snapping noise, open and close the riveter again to make sure it installs correctly.
The rivet should then have a second head (on the “blind” side of the pieces being fastened) holding the pieces of material together.
