Riveter, rivet, metal work, construction, tool, wood, metal, plastic, wonkee donkee, DIY. Some riveters have four different nozzles to accommodate rivets with different diameters. There are interchangeable nozzles, which have to be fitted to and removed from the head individually as required, and adjustable nozzles, which have all four diameters on the same integral part.

Step 1 – Place spanner

Place the hexagonal hole end of the spanner around the body of the nozzle currently fitted to the head.

Step 2 – Loosen nozzle

Turn the spanner anti-clockwise to loosen the nozzle.

Step 3 – Unscrew nozzle

Once the nozzle has become loose, unscrew it using your fingers.

Step 4 – Changing nozzle

Place the correct diameter nozzle into the nose of the riveter and using your fingers turn the nozzle clockwise.

Step 5 – Tighten nozzle

Finally turn the nozzle clockwise with the spanner to tighten. It is then ready to use.

Adjustable nose with nozzles

Riveter, rivet, metal work, construction, tool, wood, metal, plastic, wonkee donkee, DIY. To change to a different-sized nozzle on an adjustable nose you need to turn the nose anti-clockwise using your fingers.

Turn the nose until the nozzle size you require is open.
