Advantages

• It is readily available at most builders merchants and DIY stores

• It is easy to cut

• It is flexible and sag resistant

• It readily accepts paint

• It is quicker to put up than plaster

• Can be recycled

Disadvantages

• Many people are put off by the hollow thump made when you tap it

• It is a quick, cheap fix, which some people do not like

• It has a lack of texture and character

• It cannot be moulded

• Finding a place to recycle it can be difficult – most end up in land-fill

• Plasterboard can easily be damaged
