A batten lifter, also called a lath lifter, is a hand-held device designed to remove battens (or laths) from a roof. | |||

A batten lifter is used to remove battens when new or replacement roofing is being installed. | |||
How does it work? |

A batten lifter works as a lever to prise battens away from the rafters.
You do this by taking hold of the handle and positioning the prongs underneath the batten so that they are either side of the rafter. Then you push down on the batten lifter and prise the batten away from the roof. |
