Leg poles are adjustable aluminium poles which link the foot plates with the sole plates. Leg-poles are sometimes referred to as ‘strut tubes’.
Dura stilts with double leg-poles
Double leg-poles have the advantage of offering a little more stability and are ideal for beginners. The disadvantage is that they are a little heavier and will tire the wearer sooner, especially on prolonged jobs.
Stilts with a pivoting sole
Having stilts with a pivoting sole allows for a much more natural style of walking. Because they have two independent foot plates, the stilts give you greater stability even when treading on foreign objects.
Making your own stilts
It is possible to make your own stilts.
Can you hire stilts?
Yes, you can! Many suppliers will let you hire plasterers’ stilts for a pre-arranged time period. If you are a professional and in need of everyday use, then hiring will probably not be cost-effective.
