Tighten the strap by turning the adaptor by hand, this will cause the strap to overlap itself and apply tension to the oil filter.
Step 4 – Select drive tool
To rotate the adaptor, use either a square drive such as a hand ratchet inserted into the adaptor, or a hexagonal drive such as a spanner on the exterior of the adaptor.
1/2 inch (13mm) square drives are the most commonly used drives but you will need a tool with a drive that corresponds to the dimensions of your adaptor.
Step 5 – Position drive tool
The image on the left shows where each tool would be placed in or around the adaptor. The square drive would be on the head of a hand ratchet and a hexagonal drive of the adaptor would fit into a spanner.
Step 6 – Turn tool and wrench
Turn the tool and wrench anti-clockwise to remove the filter.
