Cable pullers have a maximum working load that they are able to pull, which ranges from 2 tonne (2000kg) to 4 tonne (4000kg). They are capable of moving or pulling vehicles, machines, logs and other heavy objects.
Cable pullers contain a load hook and an anchor hook. The anchor hook needs an anchor point such as a vehicle or a similar secure weight to be attached to.
Cable winches
Cable winches have a maximum working load from 450kg to 900kg. This is not as much as a cable puller, however it is suitable for pulling and moving boats, cars, lawn equipment and pulling loads onto trailers and up steep driveways.
Cable winches can be mounted onto a vehicle or trailer, so this will act as its anchor point.
So, before deciding whether to use a cable puller or cable winch, find out what you are going to be moving or pulling and identify the weight of the load.
