The board (or plate) of a plasterer’s hawk is the part onto which users load quantities of mortar or plaster. | |||
The handle |

On the underside of the plate is a sturdily-fixed handle used to carry the hawk. This can be separate and screwed on, or moulded as one with the hawk.
