The body of a marker is typically made from plastic or metal and it is the part that the user holds when marking or writing. The body also contains the ink supply that is drawn out through the tip.
Tip
The tip of a marker pen is the part that makes the mark on your work surface. The shape of a tip may differ from model to model. For more information see What are the different shapes of marker tip?
Lid
The lid is a simple covering that protects the tip between uses. It stops the tip drying out and also keeps it from accidentally marking or staining objects.
Clip
The clip secures the pen to a pocket or tool-belt when the marker is not in use. Not all markers have these.
