Installing and removing the reducer plate may vary depending on the make and model of your manual coating sprayer. One method is shown below:
Attaching the reducer plate
Step 1 – Locate plate under top retainer
Hold the sprayer in one hand, or place it on the ground or a table, if you prefer.
Slot the reducer plate into the opening at the front of the case. The edge of the plate should locate under the top lip of the retainer, and be sitting squarely against the opening of the case.
Step 2 – Release plate
Release the reducer plate and allow it to drop into the bottom lip of the retainer. The reducer plate should now hold securely in position.
Removing the reducer plate
Step 1 – Lift reducer plate
Holding the sprayer in one hand (or place on the ground or a table, if you prefer), lift the reducer plate with your free hand. This will push the reducer plate further up into the top retainer and free it from the bottom retainer.
Step 2 – Remove plate
Pull the reducer plate down and out of the sprayer opening.
When the reducer plate is off, the spray area is at its maximum and a wider coverage is achieved.
When the reducer plate is on, the amount of coverage is reduced. This is very handy when spraying a small area as it is more accurate and easier to control the spray area. The reducer plate is replaceable.
