The curved blade of the lino knife contains the cutting edge.
Lino knife cutting edge
The cutting edge contains a bevel on both sides of the blade and is used to cut or score material.
A bevel describes the edge of a structure that is not perpendicular to the face of the blade (does not meet at 90°). These edges join at a point to create the sharp cutting edge.
Lino knife handle
The handle provides the user with a comfortable non-slip grip while using the tool.
Some types of handle have hand or finger grooves, providing a secure grip to reduce fatigue when the knife is used for long periods.
Lino knife rivets
The rivets permanently fasten the handle to the blade.
Lino knife hanging hole
Lino knives are available with handles that contain a hanging hole so it can be safely stored away when not in use.
Lino knife ferrule
Some types of lino knives come with a ferrule which holds the blade and handle of the knife together. A ferrule is a small, circular, metal ring that fastens two objects together.
