How to use a trolley jack

Step 1 – Park vehicle
Place the vehicle and jack on a level surface, chock the wheels of the vehicle and set the handbrake. |

|

|
Step 2 – Close release valve
Attach the end of the handle to the release valve and close tightly by turning clockwise |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
Step 3 – Place trolley jack
Place the jack under the load so that the saddle will be ready to come into contact with the load.
Make sure the load is centred to avoid it slipping. Refer to the vehicle owner’s manual for the correct lifting point. |

Step 4 – Pump handle
Pump the handle up and down until the saddle comes into contact with the load.
Make sure you check to see if the saddle is still correctly positioned. |

|

|
 |
|
Step 5 – Adjust height
Raise the jack to the desired height. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
Step 6 – Place axle stands
Place axle stands under the vehicle of the correct capacity. |

|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
Step 7 – Lower vehicle
Once you have completed maintenance or repair on your vehicle, raise the jack so you can remove the axle stands.
Then, open the release valve very slowly by turning it anti-clockwise. The slower you turn the release valve, the slower the jack will lower. |
