How to use vee blocks to hold stock vertically?

			Vee blocks can be used to hold round parts vertically under a mill or drill press. This is useful if you need to machine through the end of a metal cylinder or pipe.

			Step 1 – Position vee block in vice Install the vee block against the fixed jaw of the vice of your machine so that it is standing vertically on its side. Step 2 – Position workpiece Position the workpiece in-between the V-channel of the block and the movable vice jaw.

			Step 3 – Close jaws of vice Close the jaws of the vice so that the workpiece and vee block are clamped securely.

			You are now ready to begin machining your workpiece.
