Pop up waste installation tool maintenance and care
Like most tools, it is advisable that the pop up waste installation tool is cleaned and dried before storing. This helps to limit the amount of corrosion that may occur with the tool.
The handle is zinc coated and the blades are made from spring steel so they have some protection from corrosion. Despite this, if the metal is scratched, the possibility of rust and corrosion will be increased, so the tool should still be stored carefully in a dry environment, preferably where it won’t get damaged.
The pop up waste installation tool can be cleaned with a general purpose lubricating oil on the blades. This will also help prevent it from rusting as it will leave a slight coating on the metal. It’s not advised that you oil the handle as this could cause the tool to slip when being used. A water displacement spray may also be used to keep moisture away.
