On SDS plus drills, the chuck works differently to that on standard power drills. | |||

As a result, a mortar rake designed for an SDS plus drill needs to be screwed onto an adaptor that sits between the mortar rake and the chuck. | |||

Removing an old bit |

Step 1 – Pull down sleeveTo remove a bit from the chuck, pull down the chuck sleeve/outer collar. |

Inserting a mortar rake |

Step 1 – Install adaptor, mortar rake and dust extractionA mortar rake screws onto an adaptor before being inserted into a SDS Plus Drill. |

Step 2 – Install mortar rakePush the mortar rake adaptor into the chuck. |

Step 3 – Turn adaptorTurn the adaptor until it slots into place. |

Step 4 – Install mortar rakeOn the other end of the adaptor, you can install the mortar rake. |
