Some hole saws come with arbors attached, while others have detachable arbors which can be used on variety of hole saws. This step-by-step guide will show you how to attach an arbor to a hole saw. See below and get in the know!
Arbors will typically outlast a hole saw but there may come a time when you need to replace it due to damage or wear and tear. You will also need to know how to remove and attach it if you are using the same arbor with a range of different hole saws.
Step 1 – Insert collar threads
Lift the collar base and insert collar threads into the centre hole of your appropriately-sized hole saw.
Step 2 – Screw on until tight
Thread the hole saw onto the threads and screw until it is tight.
Step 3 – Align drive pins
Align the drive pins with the holes in the collar and insert them.
Step 4 – Lock on hole saw
The pins on the collar should align with the smaller holes on the base of the hole saw. These will lock the hole saw on to the arbor.
