Depending on what you are using the folding square for, it may pick up dirt from the floor or the materials that have used for certain jobs. If the folding square does need to be cleaned, you can wipe the frame with a damp cloth. | |||

After each use, store the folding square in a safe place to avoid any damage. | |||

Fold the tool so it becomes one length and place in its carry case, if provided. This will prevent any liquids, dirt or damp from damaging the folding square. | |||

How to check the accuracy of a folding square |

To check if the right angle of a folding square is inaccurate, place the angle onto a plain and even material. Draw around the angle, then with a different tool that measures angles, check to see if the angle is correct. | |||

To check the two 45 degree angles, mark the angle on a piece of flat and even material.

To check the straight lines of a folding square simply draw along the straight edge of the folding square onto a workpiece, then use an individual ruler to see if the line is straight. | |||

If the angles or ruler lines are not accurate then the folding square is faulty and will need to be replaced. | |||
