Caulkers are suitable for a wide range of tasks including: gap-filling, wallpaper hanging, dry-lining, smoothing out, patching, and Artex decorating. You can also use them when grouting tiles.Did you know? Dry lining is the fitting of plasterboard to any surface in place of hard plaster.
You would use a caulker to fill and smooth any gaps between the plaster boards.
A caulker’s flexible blade is usually around 90-300mm (31/2 – 12″ approx.) in length and can be used for applying filler to a wall or ceiling surface. This also allows you to feather (blend in) the filler onto your surface; thus making it ideal for patching-in work. Patching-in refers to any kind of filling in of residual gaps left in a drywall or plaster after construction or holes left by nails, screws or accidental damage.
