The multitool has a recess in the handle for storing the double-ended bit that you are not using so that it doesn’t get lost.
As both the bits and the bit holder are magnetic, you can store your multitool with one of the bits stowed away in the handle and one still in the bit holder. They should not come out unless you deliberately detach them.
Make sure the multitool is dry when you put it away. This will help to protect against corrosion.
