Texturing brushes are hand tools used to create a textured finish on walls and ceilings in the final stage of plastering or rendering.
There are two types of texturing brushes: a single or double-headed wooden texturing brush, with soft bristles, and a plastic texturing brush with stiffer bristles (pictured above).
Despite the slight difference in appearance, they can be used to create very similar patterns.
Texturing brushes are used to create the patterns now most associated with the trend of the 70s: Artex.
But they can also be used to touch up other worn or damaged textured surfaces.
