How do you punch a hole using a slate guillotine?

Step 1 – Mark slate for hole

Take a piece of slate and mark it with a pen to show where you want the hole to be made.

Step 2 – Position and punch slate 

Insert the slate between the arms of the guillotine, lining up the mark on the slate with the punch pin.  Hold the slate firmly with one hand.

Using your other hand, in one swift movement, close the top arm of the guillotine so that the hole punch makes contact with the slate.

Step 3 – Continue punching

It could take more than one punch to make a hole in the slate, so repeat step 2 as necessary.
