Roofing bar jaw locking knob

Adjustable jaw knob on a roofing bar The jaw locking knob is used to lock the jaws into position once they have been adjusted to suit the width of the batten. The knob allows for batten widths of between 25mm (1 inch) and 80mm (3 inch). It is grooved for easy handling.

Roofing bar handle

Handle of roofing bar The handle, with a soft, non-slip, PVC coating, is pushed down to grip the batten between the jaws.

Roofing bar measurement scale

Measurement scale on roofing bar The roofing bar includes a built-in, easy to read scale for accurately setting the distance between the battens.

The scale is marked in centimetres and allows fine adjustments to be made while on the roof without the need for an additional measuring tools.

Roofing bar measurement knob

Adjustable measurement knob on roofing bar The measurement knob, in conjunction with the scale, enables quick and easy positioning. The knob also acts as a stop and, in use, is placed against the lower batten to ensure that the new batten, gripped between the jaws, is fixed at the correct spacing.

Like the jaw locking knob, it is grooved for easy handling.

Roofing bar loop

The loop at the end of the roofing bar allows the tool to be clipped to a tool belt when on the roof, so that it is always ready to hand.

It also enables the tool to be strapped to any fixed object while working at height, to prevent it from falling. In addition, the loop can be used to hang the roofing bar up when not in use.
