Mitre saw protractors are measured by the length of their arms.
Standard mitre saw protractors either have arms that are 175mm (7 inch) or 300 mm (12 inch) in length.
Narrow-armed mitre saw protractors usually have arms that are 175mm (7 inch) in length.
Combination protractors usually have arms that are 300 mm (12 inch) in length.
Which size should you choose?
Mitre saw protractors with shorter arms are useful when measuring angles in confined spaces. These protractors are also easier to store in toolboxes or any small storage spaces.
Protractors with a longer arm length are better suited to measuring larger angles where there is more room to manoeuvre. As the protractors are larger, they will require more storage space.
