The pliers should be cleaned after each use by wiping with a rag or brushing with a soft brush. The punch should be checked and, where possible, replaced, if it shows any signs of damage or wear. | |||

After cleaning, all moveable parts should be lubricated with an all-purpose oil taking care not to get any on the handles. Any excess should be wiped away with a rag before storing. | |||
