Step 1 – Open jaws

The handles are pulled apart, opening the jaws.

Step 2 – Position jaws

The jaws are positioned over the sections of wall to be fixed. The wall will be made up of U channels, with studs spaced vertically between. The punch should be placed against the outside of the U channel, so that the crimp is formed on the inside of the stud. This will ensure that the finished surface is flat.

Step 3 – Push handles together

Push the handles together. A lever transmission minimises the amount of force required.

Step 4 – Pull handles apart

Pull the handles apart and remove the tool.
