Immersion heater spanners are easy to use and designed specifically for immersion heater replacement.
All you need to do is make sure the head of your spanner is fitted snugly around the base of your immersion heater element and turn the handle. It’s best to pull the spanner handle or tommy bar towards you rather than push away from you when using this tool.
Screwing an immersion heater element clockwise will tightenit.
Screwing an immersion heater element anti-clockwise will loosenit.
If you are using a spanner with a tommy bar, you can adjust it to produce more leverage by sliding the tommy bar over to one side. Be careful not to slide the tommy bar all the way out of the spanner.
