What is a household battery tester? |
||||
A battery tester is a device which checks the power left in a household battery. All batteries have a DC: direct current; that includes the batteries you use in remote controls, watches and smoke detectors.
Battery testers can generally be used on multiple types of household battery, including AA, AAA, 1.5v button cells, 9v square batteries and rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries. However, it is best to check that a tester suits your battery needs before purchase, especially for more specialised batteries, such as those used in cameras.
A battery tester tells you if your battery is good, low or needs recharging or replacing.
There are two types of battery tester available; digital and analogue.
