The thermometer probe should be wiped clean after each use. Water and a mild detergent may be used, but the thermometer should not be submerged.
Maintenance
If provided, the probe cap should always be used when storing. This keeps the probe clean and prolongs the thermometer’s life.
The battery cannot be changed in some digital thermometers; in this case once the thermometer stops working it will need to be replaced. However, there are varieties where the battery can be replaced.
Digital thermometers are usually equipped with coin cell batteries (see each individual model for specifics).
Storage
A digital thermometer can be stored in any cool, dry location.
