Each probe has a ball on one end which snaps into the body of the wiggler.
The body can be tightened so that the probe fits securely into the tool. Do not overtighten the body of the wiggler as this will stop the wiggler from working effectively.
The interchangeable probes should be secure, but should also be able to move freely when the spindle of the machine is rotating.
The wiggler is then inserted into an end mill holder, collet or drill chuck and mounted in a milling machine or drill press.
Wigglers work most effectively when the spindle of the machine is rotating at between 500 and 1000 RPM.
When the spindle of the machine is set the rotate, the centre finder will begin to wiggle energetically.
As it starts to move closer to the edge of a part however, the wiggling will start to subside until the tool appears almost still.
When it makes contact with the edge of a part, the wiggler will become offset and break away.
This motion indicates clearly that the edge has been found.
