Use a sharp knife to cut away the hand grip from the handle of the manual post-hole auger, digger or borer. If you need to, remove the old, worn-out handles. They may slide off the end of the handle or you may need to cut them away with a sharp knife.
Universal hand grips can be purchased to go on the handles of manual post-hole auger, diggers or borers. You can purchase hand grips of your choice to suit the size of your hands and the diameter of your auger’s handle.
Slide the hand grip onto the handle of the manual post-hole auger, digger or borer. Most hand grips can be stretched and slid onto the handle. If you are struggling, try heating the hand grips in hot water. The heat softens the rubber and makes it easier to stretch them. Don’t be tempted to use a lubricant to fit hand grips as they will just slide off again!
