For a bottom pouring lead ladle, after use, pour the last of the lead from the ladle, making sure that the spout is completely empty. This procedure ensures the spout stays free of hardened lead and the next time you come to use it you won’t encounter any problems.
For a standard lead ladle, ensure all the lead is poured off the ladle. If some lead remains, you can use a blow torch to melt it off, then tip the unused lead into your scrap bucket.
When it has cooled down, hang your lead ladle on a tool wall.
