Brick tongs can help make brick carrying easier by allowing you to carry a number of bricks at once. Read our guide on how to use brick tongs!
Step 1 – Line up bricks
First you need to know the amount of bricks or blocks you are going to be carrying.
The amount you can comfortably carry will usually be between 6 and 10. Line them up on their side on an even surface.
Step 2 – Place tongs over bricks
Place the tongs over the bricks you have lined up.
Rest the fixed end against the bricks, then increase or decrease the length of the arm depending on the number of bricks you can comfortably carry.
Adjust the length by unscrewing the wingnut and removing the bolt out of the hole.
Step 3 – Adjust length of tongs
Adjust the length of the tongs by pulling out, or pushing in, the adjustable arm.
Step 4 – Tighten arms
Line up the holes and place the bolt through the arms, screwing the wingnut securely back on.
Step 5 – Place tongs over bricks
Carefully place the clamps either end of the bricks with the fixed end placed up against the brick to support the load.
Step 6 – Grasp handle and lift
Finally, once both ends of the clamp are lined up, grab the handle securely with one hand and lift. This will cause the free end of the tongs to clamp the bricks against the fixed end.
Now you have the bricks clamped securely, you can carry them by your side to your chosen area.
To place bricks down, lay them on an even surface and release the handle which will release the clamp.
